Symbolism

  The ocean contains many mysteries that have yet to be solved by mankind.  These mysteries include the unexplored depths that take up seventy percent of Earth's surface.  Humans dwell on the other thirty percent where everything is clear.  Instead of putting funds into exploring the depths of the ocean they cho0se to explore space in search of another home or other life forms.  Constantly worried about how to preserve their futures instead of enjoying their own lives.

  Humanity's need to preserve their children's futures is a sign of the selflessness that humans are capable of.  Their interest in other life in space represents the curiosity of most individuals.  The fact that they don't prioritize the exploration of the planet that they live on shows ignorance and carelessness.  They assume that they know everything they need to for the moment about the ocean.  Putting more funds into the exploration of space instead of the ocean shows their innocence, they hope the life in space isn't as hostile as they are.
